» more info For over 10 years the Polonium Foundation has been working on behalf of Polish scientists in the country and abroad. Since 2012 the Polonium team focuses on organizing the yearly conference Science: Polish Perspectives (SPP) and in 2016 it has been registered as Polonium Foundation. SPP is a series of events that aim to connect the Polish scientific diaspora from all over the world in order to understand them better, support the networking of its members and provide them with a platform to raise important issues with the academic environment, policymakers, and industry sector in Poland. All SPP events promote interdisciplinarity and scientific popularisation of best practices. Additionally to the SPP, Polonium Foundation organizes smaller events in different parts of the world – SPP Meetups and has created the Polonium Network – a networking platform for Polish scientists. Polonium Network provides access to job offers, other members, mentoring program, and the Career Cafe series of webinars. Apart from its science popularisation efforts, Polonium Foundation also runs its own research. In the past few years, they have published reports focusing on polish emigrants: Beyond recognition: Polish scientific diaspora as a source of social capital and Approaches towards Brexit among Polish researchers in the UK. Recently the Foundation has also launched a research project on the current and future UK-Polish research & innovation relationship in partnership with Science and Innovation Network (SIN) Poland and the British Embassy in Warsaw. More information about Polonium Foundation can be found on their website or their Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. » hide description
