Prof. Davies gained Ph.D. title from British Council for National Academic Awards. Currently he is a professor in Plant Evolution, Dean for Science and Innovation and leader of his own research team on The Centre for Plant Sciences on University of Leeds. His group focuses mainly on influence of molecular processes on plant evolution. They started with analyzing changes in flower development and meristemes’ functions. The results led to increased interest in impacts of transcriptional and posttransciptional gene expression regulation on mechanisms of plant growth. At present important part of group work is scrutinizing the process of nonsense-mediated mRNA decay and its influence on intermediation in coordinated regulation of plant’s groups of genes.
