How many abstracts can each participant submit?

Each participant can submit two abstracts (one presentation and one poster) that he or she will present. Moreover, a participant can be a co-author of any other submitted abstract. However, we would like to point out that the acceptation of the presenting author does not signify the automatic acceptance of all co-authors.

How many participants can give one presentation?

Presentations should be given by one person only. We encourage all co-authors to participate as passive participants and actively discuss the topic after the presentation.

In which language will the invoice be given?

The invoice will be issued on the basis of participant’s affiliation – participants with Polish affiliation will receive an invoice in Polish. People with foreign affiliation will receive an invoice in English.

How many authors can present a poster at a time?

In order to provide comfortable presenting conditions for all co-authors, as well as for poster session visitors, the rule of poster submission and presentation by one author only has been established. The presenting author is the one subbmiting the abstract.

Who can participate in “Symbioza”?

Every first-, second- or third-degree student, researcher, or any person who is interested in biotechnology or  related fields who wants to present their research results on the related topic, or just expand their knowledge in the area and make interesting contacts is perfectly welcome at IBS Symbioza.

In 2018 we increased the reach of IBS “Symbioza” – we kindly invite participants from all over the world. The 7th Symbioza will be held fully in English.

I would like to participate in “Symbioza,” but I don’t have a good presentation topic. Can I come, just to listen and broaden my knowledge?

Of course! The aim of “Symbioza” is to broaden the knowledge and integrate the academic community, so you are warmly invited, also as a listener!

How much is the participation fee?

The participation fee for VII IBS “Symbioza” is 100 zł or 24 euro. The fee includes participation in all lectures and poster sessions, integration events, two lunches, snacks and coffee during the breaks, conference package and abstract book. All participants, passive as well as active, pay the same fee.

What are the requirements for the abstracts?

In order to make our conference even more pleasant, we decided to relieve the participants of formatting abstracts of the presentations and do it ourselves.

We only ask to:

  • – limit the length of the summary (not including the title, authors and affiliations) to 2000 characters (including spaces)
  • limit the length of the title to 200 characters (inclugind spaces)

Abstracts should be submitted by a web form, a link to which is sent in an e-mail confirming the registration for the symposium. We do not accept abstracts sent by e-mail.

All abstracts should be subbmitted in English.

Abstract that do not fulfill abovementioned requirements can be disqulified.

Can I get an invoice for the participation in the conference?

Yes, you can get the invoice for the participation. To get the invoice you should check it off in the registration form and give the invoice details.

Can I participate in only one day of the conference for a reduced fee?

Unfortunately, there is no such possibility. Regardless of the number of days of actual participation in the Symposium, the fee remains the same. We kindly invite you to attend the entire symposium (with two lunches, an integration party, and an outdoor game included in the fee), and not just its parts.

What are possible ways of participation at IBS “Symbioza”?

We provide you with two ways of participation at IBS “Symbioza”:

  • – passive participation that allows you to take part in all conference lectures and events,
  • – active participation that additionally to the passive one allows you to present your data in front of Symbioza’s participants in the form of poster presentation or 15 min oral presentation.
